Dr.Abed N. Azab has received his PhD in Ben-Gurion University of the Negev during the period of 1999. Currently, he is working as a professor in Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He has authored 32 research articles. He is a member of Israeli Society for Biological Psychiatry. He has awarded as Excellence in Studying Award, Pratt Fellowship for Faculty Candidates, Career Development Chair in Community Health Professions.

Dr. Qingsheng Li is a tenured Professor at the School of Biological Sciences and Nebraska Center for Virology in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Li obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Virology from the Beijing University, China. Dr. Li has more than 20 years of experience in studying HIV-1 pathogenesis, transmission, microbicide, and vaccine development and his technical expertise includes the use of SIV-rhesus macaque model, human specimens, humanized-BLT (bone marrow liver and thymus) mouse model, and single-cell in situ analyses. Dr. Li has published extensively on HIV/SIV transmission, pathogenesis and prevention, including one paper in Science and two papers in Nature as the lead author.

Dr. Li research work is focused on studying HIV-1 pathogenesis, transmission and prevention using single cell in situ analyses and in vivo SIV-rhesus macaque and humanized-BLT (bone marrow liver and thymus) mouse models of HIV-1 infection.

Dr. Jianxun (Jim) Song is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, United States. The base of expertise on T cell biology needed to perform his research began to develop while he was a postdoctoral scholar and research scientist from the years 2001-2007 under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Croft at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology. He became a junior faculty at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2007, and extended his research on Developmental Immunology and Stem Cell Biology. As a PI on previous university-, foundation-, or NIH-funded grants, he laid the groundwork for the research by developing highly reactive T lymphocytes from pluripotent stem cells (PSC). His laboratory was the first to show that induced PSC differentiate into functional T cells for cell-based therapies. In addition to having the expertise to be successful with the research, he offers leadership and administrative skills that were developed during his independence as a mentor of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. In summary, he has a demonstrated record of successful and productive research projects in the area.

Dr. Robert J Amato is a full Professor and Acting Director of the Division of Oncology at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and the Chief of the Division of Oncology at Memorial Hermann Cancer Center TMC. He achieved his medical degree from the University of North Texas, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine after graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University. Dr. Amato completed his residency program in Internal Medicine at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine Hospital System before becoming a fellow in Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center where he earned the top award for clinical excellence. He became faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1988 and was there until 2000 when he joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine as an Associate Professor. He joined The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Department of Internal Medicine, and Division of Oncology as Professor in September 2008.

Dr. Robert J. Amato is one of the world’s leading experts in the treatment of genitourinary cancer. Early in his career, his research helped make testicular cancer a highly treatable disease. His current research focuses on molecular-targeted therapeutics to halt the progression of metastatic kidney and prostate cancers, the further development of immunotherapies with a primary focus on vaccine and immune therapy, and determining how elements from his current studies may be used in the treatment of bladder and testicular cancer.

Jeffrey Jacobson, MD, has completed his MD in Cornell University Medical College, New York, NY, 1977. Dr. Jacobson has been appointed as Professor of Medicine, Professor of Neuroscience and Professor in the Center for Neurovirology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Dr. Jacobson is a nationally and internationally-renowned expert in clinical research on HIV and other chronic viral infections. Dr. Jacobson has 118 peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Nature Medicine, Journal of Infectious Diseases and Annals of Internal Medicine. Dr. Jeffrey M. Jacobson has extensive experience in the care and investigative study of patients with HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C infection. Recently, he has been studying long-acting parenteral antibody and other therapies against HIV infection. He has chaired numerous clinical research studies involving pathogenesis, pharmacokinetics, and treatment in and outside the NIH-sponsored AIDS Clinical Trials Group. In addition, he has chaired several ACTG committees, including the Immunology Committee and the Translational Research and Drug Development Committee, and has been a member of the Scientific Agenda Steering Committee of the ACTG. He has co-chaired the Long Acting Drug Task Force in the ACTG, and currently serves as chair of the Micro-biome Focus Group and co-chair of the Therapeutic Vaccination Focus Group.

Jeffrey Jacobson particular clinical interests are immunology and immuno-pathogenesis of HIV infection, including vaccine and other immune- and gene-based therapies.

Professor Rafik Karaman is currently a distinguished professor of pharmaceutical sciences, College of Pharmacy, Al-Quds University, Jerusalem, Palestine. He received his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical/bioorganic chemistry from the Hebrew University in 1987, his MS degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Hebrew University in 1983, and his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the Hebrew University in 1981. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo and University of California at Santa Barbara for 5 years where he worked with Professor T.C.Bruice in the bioorganic chemistry field. Professor Karaman is broadly interested in the design and synthesis of prodrug systems to be used for the delivery of certain drugs that have poor water solubility or/and have low bioavailability as well as synthesis of prodrugs for masking the bitter sensation of commonly used drugs. The prodrug design is executed using ab initio, DFT, semiempirical, molecular mechanics as well as molecular dynamics and conformational dynamics methods. The overarching goal of Karaman’s research activities is to establish a method for obtaining prodrugs that their interconversion rates will be controlled or programmed by the chemical features of the linker (promoiety) attached to their active parent drugs. Professor Karaman has more than 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters; 100 of them were published in the recent 7 years.

Xiaoxin Ye is currently working in Department of Materials Science and Engineering Osaka University Japan

My research fields involve the biomedical titanium alloy processing/characterization, surface modification, mechanical/corrosion/biocompatibility property. My research is currently about electropulsing-assisted processing and characterization of titanium alloy. Electropulsing ultrasonic striking and electropulsing-induced topographical oxidation have been also brought in to modify the materials surface for improving the microhardness, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility with the help of nanocrystallization and nanostructured oxide. My research interests include green materials processing, surface coating, nanomaterials, energy materials and biomaterials.

Born in Paraná, Brazil, in 1979. Grew up with the limitations and benefits of a small town. The family's financial limitations have prevented her from taking courses, traveling, or have toys, but not prevented her from having a lot of fun and study (much) in childhood. He attended state schools in childhood and adolescence and entered the university without preparatory course. All she did was employing what she learned since childhood: go all the way in everything began, with great commitment and faith. She graduated in Chemical Engineering (2003) at the public University of Maringa (UEM-Brazil) and had her master degree in Chemical Engineering (2008) from the public University of Campinas (Unicamp-Brazil). Her PhD was in Science (2013) by the Chemistry Institute of Unicamp and currently she is a post-doctoral of the Biological Chemistry Group of the Department of Organic Chemistry at Unicamp too.

Techniques for polymeric materials characterization including X-ray Difraction (XRD), Infrared (IR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopies besides Scanning (SEM) and Transmission (TEM) Electronic Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Experience in developing polymer nanocomposites by casting, freeze-casting and electrospinning processes and experience in chemistry from biomass, enzymatic and acid hydrolysis, purification and recovery of proteins with use of volatile salt, precipitation of enzymes and evaluation of enzyme activity.

Born in 1974, in 1998 she graduated summa cum laude in Industrial Chemistry at Università degli Studi di Milano and in 2001 she got a PhD in Industrial Chemistry, awarded by the same University. She is presently attending the Master of Science course in Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano as second graduation. Presently she is Associate Professor of Chemical Industrial Plants at the Dept of Chemistry of the University of Milano. She has been responsible of research contracts on behalf of important industries and she is afferent to the National Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) and to the Centre for Nanostructured Materials and Interfaces (CIMAINA). She is associated to the National Research Council (CNR-ISTM) since 2009. The results of her activity have been summarised in 12 invited reviews, 75 papers on international journals with high impact factor, more than 105 congress presentations and 5 invited lectures. She is co-author of the book “Fenomeni di trasporto”, printed in 2009 by an Italian Editor (Ed. Cortina) and guest editor of a special issue on process design for biorefineries. Her h-index is 24, with overall 1555 citations.

Her research interests are mainly focused on heterogeneous catalytic and photocatalytic processes, on process simulation and kinetic modelling and on the synthesis of nanostructured materials. Some of the topics studied are: a) ammonia synthesis and decomposition; b) catalytic flameless combustion of hydrocarbons; c) selective oxidation of aromatic compounds; d) ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to styrene; e) oxidative dehydrogenation of light alkanes to olefins; f) microporous materials for H2 storage; g) development of getters for water entrapment; h) kinetic modelling of the hydrocracking of long chain linear paraffins (C10, C16, C28, C36); i) flame pyrolysis synthesis of oxide nanomaterials; l) glycerol valorisation by selective oxidation in liquid phase. She is presently involved in a Departmental project for heat and power cogeneration with fuel cells, from second generation bioethanol. She is presently investigating materials and processes for the photoproduction of H2, for the high pressure photoreduction of CO2 and for H2 production by photoreforming of organic waste compounds in water.

Dr. Alireza Heidari, Ph.D., D.Sc. is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Chemistry. He has got his Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees from California South University (CSU), Irvine, California, USA. Furthermore, he has double postdocs in Project Management and also in Nanochemistry and Molecular Structure Theory. His research interests are Biophysical Chemistry, Nanochemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Biomolecular, and Vibrational Spectroscopy, Molecular Modeling Structure, Theoretical, Computational, and Mathematical Chemistry, Ab initio, and Density Functional Methods. Dr. Jianfei Yang is a principal scientist, project leader and immunologist at Tempero, GlaxoSmithKline, in Cambridge, MA, USA. He received a PhD in Pathology from Niigata University in Japan. He then obtained postdoctoral training in Dr. Ken Murphy’s lab at HHMI and Washington University. In the past 18 year, he has been studying the role of CD4+ T helper cells in immunity and diseases. He has 14 years of experience in immuno-inflammatory disease research and pharmaceutical drug development. He has published numerous papers and patents. He has been recognized as an expert in Th17 research and drug development in pharmaceutical industry.

Research interests include the role of immune cells such as Th17 and Treg cells in innate and protective immunity, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and cancers. He is interested in drug discovery of small molecule and novel therapeutic monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of various diseases. He is also interested in immunotherapy for tumor and inflammatory diseases.

Galila Agam, PhD, is Full Professor of Biochemistry in Psychiatry since 2009 at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.She is the past chairperson of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Pharmacology and the director of the Psychiatry Research Unit, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel. She has published more than 150 papers in reputed journals, wrote 50 chapters in books/collective volumes, edited one book and three international journals' special issues and won numerous prestigeous research grants.

George Perry is Dean of the College of Sciences and Professor of Biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Perry is recognized in the field of Alzheimer′s disease research, particularly for his work on oxidative stress. Perry received his bachelor′s of arts degree in zoology with high honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation, he headed to Scripps Institution of Oceanography and obtained his Ph.D. in marine biology under David Epel in 1979. He then received a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Cell Biology in the laboratories of Dr. Bill Brinkley and Joseph Bryan at Baylor College of Medicine where he laid the foundation for his observations of abnormalities in cell structures. In 1982, Perry joined the faculty of Case Western Reserve University, where he currently holds an adjunct appointment. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimer′s disease researchers with over 900 publications, one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in neuroscience and behavior, and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Perry has been cited over 40,000 times (H=101) and is recognized as an ISI Highly Cited Researcher. Perry is Editor for numerous journals and is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Alzheimer′s Disease. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, Microscopy Society of America, Royal Society of Medicine, Royal Society of Chemistry, Society of Biology, and the Linnean Society and past president of the American Association of Neuropathologists. Perry′s research is primarily focused on how Alzheimer's disease develops from a biological perspective and the physiological consequences of the disease at a cellular level. He is currently working to determine the sequence of mitochondrial events leading to metabolic failure.

Mohamed Eddouks is a Professor at Moulay Ismail University, Faculty of Sciences and Techniques Errachidia, Morocco. He is a researcher in Physiology and Pharmacology with a Master's Degree in Metabolic and Molecular Endocrinology from the University of Paris vi, a specialized certificate in Endocrine Pharmacology from the University of Paris vii, and PhD degrees in Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of Liege, Belgium and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco. After his post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine of Montreal, Canada, he is working for the last 13 years on medicinal plants. His work on antidiabetic and antihypertensive plants is well-recognized globally. His research focuses on ethnobiological as well as pharmacological issues in the use of Moroccan medicinal plants for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, obesity, and hypertension. His contribution to this field includes three international books and more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters of international repute. He is Guest Editor of the American Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Lead Guest Editor of an annual special issue published by Evidence-Based and Complementary Alternative Medicine, and Regional Editor of the following journals: American Journal of Food Technology, Journal of Applied Sciences, Trends in Applied Sciences Research and Singapore Journal of Scientific research, Member of Editorial Board of several international journals. He has been honored with the first Prize of Scientific Research in 2008 by the Moroccan Association of Research and Development. He has been the Dean of the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Errachidia from 2008 to 2012.
