Atlanta is the capital and the most populous city in the US state of Georgia with an estimated 2015 population of 463,878.Atlanta is the cultural and economic centre of Atlanta metropolitan area.It is the ninth largest metropolitan area in United States. Atlanta was established in 1837 at the intersection of two railway lines. and the city rose from the ashes of American Civil War to become a national centre of commerce.
Atlanta is exerting a significant impact on commerce ,research, technology education and media,art and entertainment.It has a GDP of $270 billion. Alantais marked by rolling hills and dense tree coverage.

Atlanta encompsses 134.0 sq. miles of which 133.3 sq miles is land and rest is water.The city is situated at the foothills of Applachian Mountain.Most of the city was burned during the Civil War depleting the city of the large stock of its historic architecture.The city contains three major high rise districts naey Downtown, Midtown, and Buckheads.
Atlanta is divided into 242 officially defined neighbourhoods.It has a humid subtropical climate.Encompassing $304 billion Atlanta metropolitan area is the eighth largest economy in USA while seventeenth largest in the world.Atlanta contains the country's third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies and the city is the headquater of the corporations such as The Coca Cola Company,The Home Depo,Delta Airlines,AT&T Mobility and a few more.

Those visiting Atlanta should not expect to find a romantic southern city, but rather a large and vibrant American city with southern charm. The best time to visit Atlanta is from late May to August, when you can enjoy the numerous concerts and outdoor activities happening around the city. On the other hand, the mild weather of the spring and fall might be better if you want to beat the heat. Atlanta's summers are hot and humid, with average highs in the upper 80s. Most festivals and outdoor events are held in the city's parks at night when temperatures cool down. 

Atlanta has been involved actively in the childhood obesity programs making a difference in the childhood obesity epidemic. Inc. (CHOICES), based in Kennesaw and downtown Atlanta, hosts two expos to bring health education into underserved communities. The program’s focus is on nutrition education and physical activity in order to help children maintain a healthy weight. The Active Schools Acceleration Project (ASAP) is an entrepreneurial non-profit focused on increasing quality physical activity in schools.
